Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla that lives in a suburban shopping center with Stella the elephant, Bob the dog, and other animals in a shared habitat. He has little recollections of the jungle where he was kidnapped, but a newborn elephant named Ruby hits him deeply. Ruby has lately been separated from her family in the wild, prompting him to reflect on his life, where he came from, and where he ultimately want to be.
