It's the late 1950s, and the setting is New York City. Despite its prosperity, Germany is becoming increasingly callous when it comes to confronting the atrocities of its recent history. Fritz Bauer, on the other hand, is unyielding in his pursuit of bringing the Third Reich to heel. Bauer receives a letter from Argentina, written by a father who is certain that his daughter is dating the son of Adolph Eichmann. Bauer investigates the message and discovers that it was written by the son of Adolph Eichmann. As a result of the promising lead and his skepticism of a corrupt legal system in which Nazis still lurk, Bauer travels to Jerusalem in order to form an alliance with the Mossad, Israel's secret intelligence service. To do so would be treason, but it is the only way Bauer can serve his country at this time.
