The Rape of Recy Taylor
Recy Taylor, a 24-year-old black mom and sharecropper, was gang raped by six white kids in 1944 Alabama. Typical in Jim Crow South, few females spoke out in concern for their lives. Not Recy Taylor, who fearlessly determined her rapists. The NAACP sent its principal rape detective Rosa Parks, that rallied support and set off an extraordinary uproar for justice. The film exposes a legacy of physical abuse of black ladies and also reveals Rosa Parks' intimate role in Recy Taylor's tale.
