Steve Barker (Knoxville) is a lovable loser who is forced to resort to an unimaginable, vile, and just-crazy-enough-to-work plot by a greedy uncle (Brian Cox). He is going to the Special Olympics under the guise of being mentally challenged in order to cheat and win the gold medal. After discovering the con on their own, Steve's fellow competitors push him toward his most difficult goal of all: becoming a better person.
