The Sweeney is a British police thriller based on a TV show from the 1970s. It was made by the same director as Football Factory. A criminal from Jack Regan's past comes back to haunt him. Jack Regan, played by Ray Winstone, is a tough cop who doesn't follow the rules. With their partner, George Carter (also known as "Ben Drew," or "Plan B"), they are put on the case of a jewelry store robbery that ends in a death. But was that murder really a secret execution? With his boss pushing him and Regan having an affair with his boss's wife, it won't be easy for him to stay out of trouble.
