Viktor Navorski is a man without a country. His plane took off just as a coup d'etat blew up in his country, destroying it, and now he's stuck at Kennedy Airport with a passport that no one recognizes. Viktor just keeps living in the transit lounge until the authorities figure out what to do with him. He also flirts with a pretty flight attendant.
