The Toy Soldiers
The innocence of youth and family unravels on one evening in a decade of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. The stages of grief are dramatized through five parallel coming-of-age stories. A young mother who is fighting for custody of her children finds solace in the bottle. Her ex-abuse husband's continues to haunt her children, a drug addict of nineteen years old and his younger brother, a bullied closet homosexual. There's the dog story, a teen who offers sexual favors to gain acceptance, the challenged classmate who would do anything for her love, and the redhead beauty who is haunted by a secret, tragic past. On this final evening before their hangout, The Toy Soldiers Roller Rink, closes its doors for the last time, these and other people's lives will be forever changed.
