In post-Civil War Mexico, former Union and former Confederate military officers John Henry Thomas and James Langdon command two distinct groupings of individuals. Although Langdon is heading a group of Southerners fleeing carpetbaggers and seeking a new start in Mexico, John Henry and his associates are supplying the unpopular Mexican government with $35 head of horses. After a while, the two men are obliged to put their differences aside in order to protect their family and friends from both bandits and revolutionaries.
