Pike Bishop, an old outlaw, plans to retire after he pulls off one last robbery. Dutch Engstrom, Lyle Gorch, and Tector Gorch, who are also in Bishop's gang, help him figure out that the heist is part of a plan set up by Deke Thornton, a former partner. As the rest of the gang runs away to Mexico, Thornton follows them. This leads to fierce gunfights in which many people die.
