For three weeks of rigorous writing in the secluded Greek town of Monemvassia, mystery writer Sian Anderson abandons her boyfriend John. As soon as she arrives in the ancient, deserted, walled-in fortress, she is greeted by Elias Appleby, the rotund eccentric landlord who leads her down unknown underground corridors to the house where she will be employed.
