Stewart Paylor is meant to be providing chapters of his new book after a massively successful debut novel. Stewart has writer's block and hasn't written a word, which is unknown to everyone around him, including Cynthia, his literary agent/girlfriend. When he returns home from vacation to find a homeless mother, Cassandra, and her two children, 12-year-old Jake and 9-year-old Vera, squatting in his house with nowhere else to go, his life spirals even lower.
