In pursuit of job in Alaska, Wendy, a near-penniless nomad, travels alone, with her dog Lucy as her only companion. Wendy is already on the verge of losing everything when her ancient car breaks down and she gets arrested for shoplifting dog food. To make matters worse, Wendy is arrested for shoplifting dog food on top of it all. When she posts bail and comes to pick up Lucy, she discovers that the dog has vanished, leading her to go on a frantic quest for her pet in the process.
