Ed and Sarah, a young urban couple, are about to embark on a new life when they relocate from London to an isolated Scottish border farmhouse. They are eager to begin renovations after falling in love with the nineteenth-century Castle Farm and seeing its potential as a fixer-upper. On their first night together, Sarah believes she hears noises in the darkness, but Ed dismisses her claim, claiming it is her imagination playing games. Persistent in her worry that they are not alone in the house, she compels Ed to conduct an investigation. When he fails to return after an unsettlingly lengthy period of time, she descends to investigate, only to be surprised by a welcoming committee of masked intruders. While she searches desperately for Ed, a terrifying game of cat and mouse with the mystery assailants starts.
