In a post-apocalyptic future, the legendary races of old repopulate the world. A faerie queen's twin sons— wizards— are born, one good, the other wicked. They will inevitably clash, destroying the new earth. Blackwolf, the evil son, is a mutant disfigured from the community. He aims to resurrect old combat and destruction technologies to exact vengeance and conquer the world's free peoples. For the violence and sadness promised, Avatar the virtuous son strives to live a passive life of non-aggression. The failure of Blackwolf's assassination attempt pushes Avatar to mobilize forces against him, leading to the final showdown.
