Laura (Elisa Donovan) is a working mother who wishes to spend more time with her daughter Kelsey, who is nine years old. Regrettably, her obnoxious boss Paul (Fred Willard) has other plans. When Kelsey's father, Dylan (Brad Rowe), applies for joint custody, Laura is compelled to take Kelsey to Texas, where she is forced to confront the lifestyle, religion, and father (Tom Skerritt) she left behind. Laura and Dylan will regain their devotion to each other and to Kelsey with the assistance of the local church Pastor, Frank (John Schneider).
