A Woman Called Moses is a television miniseries that is based on the life of Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was an escaped African American slave who helped to organize the Underground Railroad and who led dozens of other African Americans from enslavement in the Southern United States to freedom in the Northern states and Canada. The production was aired on the NBC television network on December 11 and12,1978, with Orson Welles providing the narration for both nights. Cicely Tyson, a winner of the Emmy Award and a finalist for the Academy Award, gave the performance of Harriet Tubman.
