Justin Tolchuk, a sensitive, lanky 16-year-old from Medora, Wisconsin, is just trying to survive the social nightmare that is high school. When his well-meaning mother, Franny, signs up for the school's international exchange student program, she envisions an athletic, intelligent Nordic kid who will instantly make her outsider son feel cool. When Tolchuk's exchange student arrives, he is revealed to be Raja Musharaff, a 16-year-old Pakistani Muslim. Raja, Justin, his family, and the entire community of Medora are in for an exciting year.
