Late 1700s in France Leon Dalville is a prince with everything: excellent looks, love, and fortune. However, one odd night, he loses everything. A fire kills his young bride, and the prince's visage is irreparably scarred. He wears a silver mask that only partially covers his face to hide his deformities, transforming him into a mysterious and ruthless man tormented by his history and despised and feared by all. Bella Dubois, innocent and naive, arrives at Leon's palace to offer her services as a maid in exchange for her father's obligations to the prince. Helene, Leon's cousin, who has always loved him, pushes the prince to seduce and abandon Bella. Leon falls in love with Bella despite Helene's nasty and dishonest manipulations.
