Chances
From 1991 to 1992, Chances was an Australian evening soap opera. It told the story of the Taylor family, a typical middle-class family whose life changes when they win $3 million in the lottery. At first, the Nine Network showed two one-hour episodes of the show each week. Dan and Barbara Taylor were played by John Sheerin and Brenda Addie. Their mischievous son Alex was played by Jeremy Sims. Dan's sister Connie Reynolds was played by Deborah Kennedy, his brother Jack by Tim Robertson, his wife Sarah by Anne Grigg, and a neighbor named Bill Anderson by Michael Caton. At first, the show's creator Lynn Bayonas pitched it as a family-friendly drama. However, Channel Nine asked for nude scenes and other risqué parts to be added to the show to help it do well. When the show was first promoted, the sex aspect was the main focus, and this is what Chances was mostly known for.
