Charlemagne
The 1993 miniseries Charlemagne, le prince à cheval depicts the life of Charlemagne. It spans from the death of his father, Pepin the Short, in 768 through Charlemagne's coronation as the first Holy Roman Emperor on Christmas Day, 800. In an earlier episode, Widukind, king of the Saxons, is seen surrendering and converting to Christianity, which did not occur until 803 A.D. This program was directed by Clive Donner and was mostly based on Einhard's contemporary history of Charlemagne, who intimately met Charlemagne.
