Endurance is a reality show that airs on children's television in the United States. It was formerly broadcast on the Discovery Kids cable network in the United States and also aired on networks in other countries. The structure of the show is fairly comparable to that of the CBS television series Survivor, although it has a cast of young people instead of adults. Although Endurance competitors compete as pairs, they live in a secluded location and take part in a variety of mental and physical challenges. The winner of each pair's competition chooses which pair of players is eliminated from the game. Every season of the show, which ran from 2002 to2008, began with a fresh group of contestants who were gradually removed as the season proceeded until the final two teams competed against one another to obtain all of the Endurance Pyramid pieces. The show aired for a total of six years. The grand prize for the competition consisted of a trip to an unusual place, with the winners' parents included, on which all of their travel expenses would be covered. Production came to a conclusion with the airing of the final episode of the sixth season on March 8, 2008, marking the show's debut on television. Up to July 22, 2013, reruns of the television show Endurance will be broadcast in the United States on the Hub Network, which is Discovery Kids's successor. The Hub stopped airing reruns on October 14, 2011, and the show was not scheduled to return for more reruns until April 2, 2012, when it was abruptly canceled once more. Reruns with Spanish dubbing can also be found playing on Azteca America on the weekends. There were three different seasons of Endurance that were each nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the category of "Outstanding Children's Series," but the show was never able to take home the award.
