The Protector of Souls title belongs to Kim Shin, an immortal "goblin." Wang Yeo, his roommate, also bears the title of Angel of Death, and he is the mythical grim reaper who takes souls from the dead. Wang Yeo has amnesia and Kim Shin wants to end his own (immortal) life, but these two devilishly attractive angels have a problem. Only by marrying a human wife can a goblin hope to defeat the curse of immortality. So, Kim Shin sets out to win over Ji Eun Tak, an upbeat high school student who he believes will be the priestess who will end his cursed existence. Kim Shin, who used to be in charge of guarding the souls of others and observing their demise, is now attempting to take their place in the afterlife. Is it possible that our eternal goblin will come to regret his decision when a somewhat convoluted technique of suicide begins to evolve into real love?
