Green Acres
Green Acres is an American sitcom starring Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as a couple who relocate from Manhattan to a rural country farm. The series was first shown on CBS from September 15, 1965 through April 27, 1971, and was produced by Filmways as a sister show to Petticoat Junction. Green Acres was eliminated in 1971 as part of CBS's "rural purge" after six years of good ratings. The sitcom has been in syndication for several years and is available on DVD and VHS. The two-part episode "A Star is Born" was voted #59 on TV Guide's list of the 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time in 1997.
