Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth

Sam Maekjong is the son of the fallen king and current queen regent, Jiso, set during the Silla dynasty, although he has been kept in secret for protection since he was a young boy, after his father was assassinated. Over the years, great lords have tried and failed to steal power from Jiso, making her suspicious and, subsequently, unwilling to hand over the kingdom. As her son reaches the age of majority, she establishes the Hwarang, an elite club of male youngsters who train in combat and education. Their existence crosses across the established power divisions, and Sam Maekjong is among them under the alias Kim Ji-Dwi, unbeknownst to other Hwarang members.
