In Living Color is an American sketch comedy show that ran from April 15, 1990, to May 19, 1994, on the Fox Network. The show was made, written, and acted in by the Wayans brothers, Keenen and Damon. The show was made by Ivory Way Productions and 20th Century Fox Television. It was taped at stage 7 at the Fox Television Center on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California, in front of a live studio audience. The name of the show came from an announcement by NBC that shows would be shown "in living color" in the 1950s and 1960s, before color TV was common. It also means that most of the actors on the show were black, which is different from other sketch comedy shows like Saturday Night Live, where most of the actors are white. Kim, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans also had regular parts, and Dwayne's brother Dwayne often showed up as an extra. Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, and David Alan Grier, all of whom were unknown at the time, were also on the show. The Fly Girls, the show's dance group, was also made up of actress Rosie Perez, Dancing with the Stars judge and choreographer Carrie Ann Inaba, and dancer Jennifer Lopez. In1990, the show won an Emmy for being the Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series.
