Jack of All Trades

Jack of All Trades is a syndicated half-hour action-comedy from 2000. Both shows were the first American non-animated half-hour action series since the 1970s. The second season was canceled. The show is set on the fictional French-controlled island of Pulau-Pulau in the East Indies around the turn of the 19th century. President Jefferson sends Jack Stiles there. He meets his British contact and love interest, Emilia Rothschild. Together, they stop Napoleon and other U.S. threats. When needed, Jack morphs into The Daring Dragoon, Emilia's masked hero. The sitcom had several on-going humor, such as historical inaccuracies, Jack being responsible for many historical events but not receiving credit, Emilia producing a miracle innovation in an obvious deus ex machina, sexual puns and innuendos, and Jack and Emilia's continuing romantic tension.
