An average of six million people watched each of the six one-hour episodes in the first season, which aired in 2007. ITV's executive chairman loved the show and requested a second series, which was shot in 2007 and aired in January and February 2008 despite a mid-season ratings slump. The third series was filmed from July to September2008, and aired on June7,2009, for the first time. According to Stephen Fry's blog post from October of2009, ITV had canceled the show, which was later confirmed by the network, which cited tighter budgets as a reason for the cancellation.
