From September 22, 2003, through February 15, 2008, NBC broadcasted the American television series Las Vegas. The show follows a group of employees at the fictional Montecito Resort & Casino as they deal with problems that emerge in the workplace, such as valet parking and restaurant management, as well as casino security. NBC shifted the series from Monday nights to Friday nights, first at 9 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Central and then at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central. After a long run of back-to-back weekday episodes, the show was relocated to a graveyard slot of 4 a.m. in July2013, and subsequently completely deleted from TNT's lineup. The original focus of the series was on Ed Deline, a tough ex-CIA officer who rose through the ranks of the Montecito's security department to become President of Operations, in charge of the casino's day-to-day operations. Former Marine Danny McCoy, Ed's former protégé, took over as the Montecito's new President of Operations after his departure from the series in Season 5. Because NBC canceled Las Vegas in the offseason after season five, the series concluded suddenly with a cliffhanger.
