Playful Kiss is a romantic comedy television series that aired in South Korea in the year 2010 and starred Jung So-min and Kim Hyun-joong. MBC broadcast all 16 episodes of the show between September 1 and October 21, 2010, at 21:55 local time on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It is an adaptation of the Japanese manga entitled Itazura Na Kiss, which was penned by Tada Kaoru. After Taiwan's It Started With a Kiss in 2005 and its sequel They Kiss Again in2007, the manga has now been adapted into a television series for the first time in Korea. Despite receiving low ratings in South Korea somewhere in the range of five to seven percent, Playful Kiss was sold to a total of twelve nations throughout Asia. After the conclusion of the series, a special, condensed episode was uploaded to YouTube and made available for viewers to watch. The protagonist, Oh Ha-ni, is a bumbling student who develops feelings for Baek Seung-jo, a student who strives for perfection.
