Mummies Alive! is a DIC Entertainment cartoon series. It first aired in 1997 for a single season. Scarab, an evil sorcerer from ancient Egypt, murders the pharaoh's son, Prince Rapses, in order to become immortal. Scarab awakens in the contemporary world after being entombed alive for his crime, and sets out to find Rapses' reincarnation, a San Francisco-based youngster called Presley Carnovan, in order to collect Rapses' spirit and become everlasting. Rapses' bodyguards, Ja-Kal, Rath, Armon, and Nefer-Tina, as well as Rapses' cat, Kahti, rise from the dead to guard him from Scarab. They morph into formidable guardians by channeling Ra's power. Each mummy is connected to an Egyptian god's power. The spirits of the falcon, snake, ram, and cat are used by Ja-Kal, Rath, Armon, and Nefer-Tina. They can summon it for magical armor and abilities in order to combat superhuman villains. They must, however, rest in their sarcophagi once their vigor has been depleted. The mummies must utter the phrase "With the Strength of Ra!" to gain access to these abilities, which causes them to morph. The mummies can also make a terrifying look, which is normally employed to keep curious passers-by at bay.
