It aired twice on Channel 4 on October 12th,2008, for a total of two hours and forty minutes. The show's title and overall premise are a spoof of talent-search-based reality television shows, which is appropriate given the show's subject matter. The title of the show is an amalgamation of other talent-search reality shows as well as a stage show, in the following order: Britain's Got Talent, Pop Idol, The X Factor, celebrity versions of pre-existing shows, Jesus Christ Superstar, Soapstar Superstar, Strictly Come Dancing, and Dancing on Ice. Additionally, Britain's Got The Pop Factor serves as a title for a fictional series within the show, in which Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice serves as the name of another fictional talent show, into which the winner of Britain's Got The Pop Factor is automatically entered after winning the show's main competition. After the credits rolled, the musical promoted its "sequel," which will be performed the following year: Celebrity Fiddler on the Roof. In the Jungle is a mash-up of the British reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and the musical Fiddler on the Roof, among other influences.
