Stitch! is the anime version of Walt Disney Animation Studios' animated feature film Lilo & Stitch, as well as the series' successor. It premiered in Japan in October 2008, following Leroy and Stitch. In place of Lilo, the show features a Japanese girl named Yuna and is set on a fictional island in the Ryukyus off the coast of Okinawa rather than Hawaii. The name of the island is Izayoi. On October 13, 2009, a second anime season titled Stitch! The Mischievous Alien's Great Adventure! debuted in Japan. Stitch! Best Friends Forever, a third yet distinct series from the first two seasons, debuted on TV Asahi on July 6, 2010. The first season premiered on the Australian Disney Channel on December 4, 2009, and continued to air in English on Disney Channel Asia on December 19, 2009. On May 2, 2010, the first season debuted on Disney Channel Latin America in Latin Spanish dub. On June 6, 2011, the second season debuted on Disney Channel Latin America. On August 20, 2012, the third season debuted on Disney Channel Latin America.
