After 1977's Rascal the Raccoon, this was the second installment in the series to include the work of an American author. When Saban International dubbed this series into English, it was titled "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and broadcast on HBO in 1988. In the 7:30 a.m. slot, it was alternated with the later WMT "Little Women" broadcast. "All New Adventures of Tom Sawyer" was the title of the videos published by Celebrity Home Entertainment in the US. As of January2011, the NHK cable channel TV Japan began showing the anime in the United States.
