The Incredible Race Asia is a reality game show based on the American show The Amazing Race. On October17,2005, CBS let other countries start their own versions of "The Amazing Race." AXN Asia, an Asian cable TV network, was one of the first to buy the rights to make a version for its territories. The show is made by ActiveTV, an Australian TV production company, for AXN and Buena Vista International Television-Asia Pacific. Allan Wu, a Chinese-American actor who lives in Singapore, hosts the show. The winner gets$100,000, while the winner of the American show gets $1,000,000. Ricky Ow, the general manager of SPE Networks-Asia, which runs AXN, explained the smaller prize by saying, "It's not really about the money. It's more about the adventure and the chance to be on one of the world's best reality shows."
