In his efforts to bring criminals to justice, FBI agent Charles Barker employs unorthodox measures that frequently border on unlawful and unnerve his inexperienced colleague, Ellis Dove. Throughout the first season, Barker is probed for alleged misbehavior by fellow FBI agents. When internal affairs agent Ray Beaumont (Larry Gilliard) approaches Dove for information, his devotion to his colleague is tested. Dove soon discovers deeper mysteries from Barker's past.
