Meet Louise, an aspiring magician. Students at the Tristein Academy refer to her as "Zero Louise" due to her current record of zero magical triumphs. In reality, her magic frequently fails horribly. She must now conjure a familiar to serve as her servant as a vital test of her magical ability. At this critical juncture, she summons all of her magic and wishes for a familiar who is "devoted, gorgeous, and powerful," and she receives... Hiraga Saito, an average Japanese kid. It's hard to say who is more astonished and disappointed, but the rules don't allow for a second try. Louise is trapped with her weird familiar, and he is trapped with her.
