CSI Investigator Barry Allen is hit by lightning and put into a coma after a particle accelerator is responsible for a strange storm. A number of months later, he reawakens with the gift of super speed, which endows him with the ability to travel about Central City with the stealth of an unseen guardian angel. Barry was initially ecstatic about his newly acquired abilities; however, he later came to the realization that he was not the only "meta-human" that had been created as a result of the explosion caused by the accelerator; furthermore, not everyone was using their newfound abilities for the greater good. Barry joins forces with S.T.A.R. Labs and commits his life to the cause of defending the defenseless. For the time being, only a handful of close friends and colleagues are aware that Barry is quite literally the fastest man alive. However, it won't be long until the rest of the world finds out that Barry Allen has become The Flash.
