Yukiteru Amano (Yuki) is an introvert who rarely interacts with others and prefers writing a diary on his cell phone. His only companion is Deus Ex Machina, the God of Time and Space, whom he considers his imaginary buddy. Yuki quickly discovers that Deus is not a fabrication of his imagination, but rather a genuine being, when Deus forces him to compete in a battle royale with eleven others. The competitors in this "Notebook Game" are handed special diaries that may foretell the future, with each diary containing unique characteristics that provide both advantages and disadvantages.
