Anna Macy left Kettering when she was only 14 years old, not long after her best friend, Gillian Baxter, went missing under unexplained circumstances. When the two young women looked up, they noticed that there were some unusual lights in the sky above the woodland that was located outside of Kettering. After eight hours, Anna was located all by herself, shaking with fear, and covered in blood. After 15 years, Anna finally makes her way back to the village, only to discover that it is trying to stay alive. The forests have been marked for logging, and the community is being ripped apart as a result of impassioned but violent fights between environmentalists and the local loggers.
