Eddie Murphy, Larry Wilmore, and Steve Tompkins created the American stop-motion animated television series The PJs. It was based on the Brewster-Douglass public housing complex in Detroit, where Diana Ross and Lily Tomlin had resided. Eddie Murphy starred in the series, which was produced by Imagine Entertainment, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, The Murphy Company & Will Vinton Studios, Touchstone Television, and Warner Bros. Television. The original version of the sitcom started on Fox on January10,1999, in the time slot following a divisional football playoff game. Two days later, the second episode aired on Tuesday night, following King of the Hill.
