American sitcom Too Close for Comfort aired on ABC from November 11, 1980, to May 5, 1983, and from April 7, 1984, to September 27, 1986, in first-run syndication. Keep It in the Family, which premiered in the UK nine months before Too Close for Comfort debuted in the US, was the inspiration for the American version. Ted Knight Show became the new name for the final season of the show, when the name was altered.
