Watership Down

The animated series Watership Down is based on Richard Adams' novel. It was co-produced by Alltime Entertainment of the UK and Decode Entertainment of Canada and directed by Martin Rosen. Watership Down aired on YTV in Canada and CITV in the UK from 1999 to 2001, albeit CITV did not air the third season. Stephen Fry, Rik Mayall, Phil Jupitus, Jane Horrocks, Dawn French, John Hurt, and Richard Briers appeared. Stephen Gately sung a fresh arrangement of Art Garfunkel's "Bright Eyes" from the 1978 film, and Mike Batt and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra composed a new score. Eric Robertson, David Greene, and Mike Batt were nominated for a Gemini Award in 2003 for the show's music. Some VHS and DVD episodes were released. All three series were released on Region 2 DVD in the UK in October 2005.
