Wild America
Wild America focuses on North America's wild creatures and wild areas. By the 1970s, Marty Stouffer had made several documentaries. He approached PBS programming officials about a half-hour wildlife show, the first to focus completely on North American flora and fauna. In 1982, PBS licensed Marty Stouffer's Wild America. The show became popular for its uncompromising presentation of nature and frequent use of slow motion and close-ups. PBS paid Stouffer $135k each show. The show's run. Reruns still air in syndication on commercial TV in much of the U.S. Warner Brothers published Wild America in1997, based on Marty Stouffer and his brothers Mark and Marshall.
