Wild West
Dawn French and Catherine Tate starred in the situation comedy Wild West, which aired from October 2002 till 2004. Simon Nye wrote and directed this dark comedy, which was shot on site in Cornwall. Wild West takes place in St Gweep, a little Cornish village, where unusual events take place on a regular basis. Many more characters are included in this sitcom, including shop owners Mary Trewednack and her long-term girlfriend Angela. However, BBC1 decided to order a second season of the sitcom, and both series have been lauded in the past for their oddities, which were initially met with mixed reviews. Most of the show was shot at Portloe, a small town in Cornwall.
