Young Dracula is a CBBC teen horror drama television series partially based on Michael Lawrence's children's novel Young Dracula AND Young Monsters. The first series, directed by Joss Agnew, aired in 2006, and the second, which began in late 2007, ended in early 2008. Three years later, a third series was commissioned and premiered on October 31, 2011, followed by a fourth on October 29, 2012. The first two series follow the Dracula family, a vampire family consisting of Vladimir, Count Dracula, and Ingrid, Vladimir's older sister. Following several events involving violent peasant crowds in Transylvania, they relocate to Stokely, a small village in Wales. Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, Caerphilly Castle, Tretower Court, and sections of Llantrisant were among the places used. The third series, which was ordered three years after the second, has Vlad and the Count fleeing both vampires and slayers, with the Count keen that Vlad fulfill his destiny as "the Chosen One." Various locations, including the decommissioned Margaret Bevan School, Croxteth Hall, and Stanley Docks, were used to film this series in Liverpool in 2011. The fourth season picks off where season three left off and is directed by a new director.
