On the occasion of Claudio and Carmela Guerrasio's oldest daughter's 18th birthday, the Guerrasio family and their friends get together to celebrate. As the birthday girl and her sister Chiara, who is 15 years old, compete on the dancefloor, there is a friendly yet competitive atmosphere between the two of them. The close-knit family is looking their very best as they celebrate this joyous event together. The following day, though, the father is nowhere to be found, and this brings about a sea change in the situation. Chiara, who is skeptical of the cover story, initiates an investigation because she wants the truth. As she draws closer to the truth, she is forced to make a decision about the kind of future she wants for herself and how she wants to get there.
