Young Alexander DeLarge and his friends get their pleasures in a near-future Britain by beating and raping anybody they want. Alex swoons to Beethoven's music when he isn't wrecking other people's lives. The authorities, keen to combat adolescent delinquency, offers an incarcerated Alex the choice of undergoing an intrusive surgery that will deprive him of all personal agency. Can Alex change his tune at a time when conscience is a commodity?
