Jon Katz is on the verge of burnout. He's a writer suffering from writer's block; his wife has moved in with her sister because he's emotionally distant; and he rarely answers his phone. A kennel sends him a border collie that has become disobedient due to abuse. Despite a string of setbacks, Jon decides to keep trying with the dog and rents a dilapidated farm house to give the dog space to run.
