Jack is a former children's author turned mystery novelist whose extensive research into the lives of Victorian serial killers has rendered him a paranoid wreck plagued by an unreasonable fear of murder. When Jack is thrown a lifeline by his long-suffering agent and a mysterious Hollywood executive takes a sudden and inexplicable interest in his script, what should have been his big break quickly becomes his big breakdown, as Jack is forced to confront his worst demons, including his love life, his laundry, and the source of all fear.
