After being saved from suicide, a young man's doctor wagers that he can restore the young man's zest for life. Ironically, the doctor's life is also not particularly pleasant, rendering his brag hollow. First of all, it is not true that he has a "happy divorce" in which he, his ex-wife, and her new spouse are all great friends. He desires his wife's return.
